What do we love?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY…“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you…but anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” ~I John 2:15,17
WHAT DO WE LOVE?…It is so easy to give our hearts away. When we get a job we love we thrust ourselves whole-heartedly into it. When we see the house we love we go to the ends of the earth to get it. When we see the see the car or truck or boat we love we can get quite excited. There is nothing wrong with enjoying things on this earth, God actually wants us to. But there is a point when we’ve given too much of our heart to this world and have little left for Christ’s world. A good question to ask ourselves is, “Do I express more passion about my job then I do the work of Christ?” “Do I consistently get more excited about a new house or new cars or trucks or boats than I do the call Christ has given me and my church?” Most of us would say we love God, but when we break it down, we sure invest a lot of our hearts and emotions in other directions, don’t we. According to the above scripture, investing our love in what pleases God significantly affects our lives. Have you thought about choosing in advance where you will invest your emotional energy? We know what pleases us… that’s easy to see. But do we know how to invest our emotions in what pleases Christ? Interesting question isn’t it. ~verlon

  1. 1 John 4 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that[a] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Yes, like opposites of reflection in the Mirror of the world... the adversary is worldly in manifestation..... Anti...

1 Cor 13: 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (See the Anti in the world and know that you are fully not and fully known by God. Is this the purpose of the world?)
Matt 4: The Adversary even offers Christ the worldly....
7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'[c]" Satan offers a worldly reflection of kingdoms and splendor and in this we are tested too..
8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you,"
1 Cor 13 :1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love... (Of the Christ who has come in the flesh, tempted as we, and are one in the flesh with him..)..... of a Worldly reflection only...

Remember your Love.. 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love
" But when Perfection Comes, the Imperfect disappears" The Mirror of the worldly shall be broken.....".Overcome"

  2. After prayer....A PS
    Con't.....
"Take care that you build not in the way of the world's worldly way of grandiose expansion ...But, build on Opus Dei ( is Latin for "Work of God"), the miracles of fruit, true of value, and which the lord provides. To do less is to live beyond one's means and of a worldly foundation...In short don't try to make it happen....Let it happen. It will seem slow, yet be sure...I sure step is better than a foolish leap..."...Angelos
