Attitudes That Must Go...

ATTITUDES THAT MUST GO…Just because we feel something inside of us, doesn’t mean it is in our best interest to let it stay. And yet most people don’t question much whether or not the thoughts they are holding should be filtered. Here’s a verse that teaches us to kick some things out…
“Drive out the scoffer and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease.” ~Proverbs 22:10
Scoffing brings a deep break-down in all human relationships. Scoffing is the exact opposite of respect. It’s designed to not only reveal a disagreement we have with another person, but it devalues the other person in the process. It’s a horrendous and caustic attitude to hold on to, and it becomes very costly. In fact it tends to get sequentially worse with time. It starts by breathing strife, then it degenerates to quarreling and finally it becomes comfortable with out and out abuse. Notice those words in the above verse. Some personalities are great scoffers. They can make anyone feel ‘small’ just by the way they respond. But no one will stand being devalued forever with reacting. If a scoffing attitude is allowed to stay, it will be very costly. It stays at the cost of peace. Scoffing…it’s one of the ATTITUDES THAT MUST GO! ~verlon

  1. There was once a great prophet... He preached in front of the temple and was even thrown out of town.....They scoffed him...But the prophesies were true as time and God validated it when it came to pass....
Even our lord Jesus was scoffed by the Pharisees.... amazing thing to me is that they believed in God but refused the truth in both cases....
Guess it's not just a matter of believing....what and how can get in the way...
Peter even believed he would not...Say he did not know the lord...three times. He did....He did face the truth though, coincidently speaking...
Often what we think stands in the way of what the Lord is saying and the truth.....
    What do you think??????
I'm going out on a limb here....But, maybe we need to trust more in what the Lord our God thinks...Less what we think.....
Jesus was willing to work with Peter ,Show him the error of his way, and thought....He did become the foundation of the church as promised too....
Peter Trusted Jesus and managed to put his inner voice aside.....Succeeded....
Prayer for today: Let me think outside the box of what I think...Open the door of your revealing of truth in my reality, so I may interact with that which is your will and truth in this everyday world...
